The Fine Print on Virgin Charter Price Guarantee

The lowest price. GUARANTEED! If Virgin Charter cannot get a plane cheaper than you can, then they’ll give you 500 dollars, or even 1000!!!. Say it aint so!!! Here it is in all it’s glory.

https://www.virgincharter.com/pdfs/Virgin_Charter_We_Can_Beat_It_Guarantee.pdf

BUT WAIT! The fine print! Read it carefully now.. Hmm… the end of the part that says “THE LEGAL STUFF” (wow, that’s  professional)

… Virgin Charter reserves the right in their sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person,
at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you. Additional restrictions may apply

So lets get this straight. One is GUARANTEED the cheapest plane ever, but if the same person finds it cheaper, and asks for the guarantee to be honored, then Virgin Charter can “modify or discontinue” it, at “any time, for any or no reason”.

They did not even TRY to be slick about this one. This is worse than making a promise and crossing your fingers. They basically flat out tell you, that they’re not going to make good on it!!! People who charter jets, must be stupid, or at least illiterate.

Virgin Charter for Sale

Might as well buy a submarine with screen doors. The model only works in a fantasy land where there is no competition, no marketing being done by aircraft charter companies, and everybody getting really rich all of a sudden.

Because obviously, there are no charter brokers out there trying to make a buck.

Because obviously, aircraft charter companies are just too stupid and too small to market themselves.

Because obviously, there is no limit on discretionary spending.

Enjoy your purchase. Will you invest in my company? Its a cutlery line endorsed by OJ Simpson.

Virgin Charter sez: Scott Duffy – You’re Fired!!

So it’s been a while since this has been updated. But that’s ok, let’s catch up.

After Eric Hofer inked the DEAL OF THE YEAR THAT WOULD BLOW THE MINDS OF PEOPLE IN PRIVATE AVIATION, the company still made no money. Which isn’t that shocking because this dude didn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. Walmart deal? Boeing deal? Who cares!!!! Radius travel? Vacation.com?? Who cares??

Oh let’s not forget Ryan Choi. WHAT THE FUCK DID THIS WANKER ACTUALLY DO? Other than sit and jack off in his office that is. This guy is the king of making ones self look important/busy when in reality he had his own small thumb stuck in his ass. Manage this perception you fucking fruitcake.

And during this time we have Scott Duffy – who undoubtedly started doing some good drugs, because he was absent quite a bit. He would show up in the offices high on life, himself, kitty litter, and the lie that is/was Virgin Charter. What a fantastic spender of money this guy was. Let’s spend 500k for audits on operators so they do business with us! Let’s throw monster parties! Let’s hire the bitchslapping Hutchbrothers duo to come teach the salespeople how to sell!… let’s explore that in a later blog.

Fuck you Virgin Charter. You might have had something to work with in your hands, and shit all over it with your own IDIOTIC MYOPIC understanding of what it is you had.

By the numbers –

Source -  http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/06/12/virgin-charter-launches-private-aviation-marketplace/

The U.S. is most of the worldwide market for private aviation, Duffy says, with about 75% of operators based here. The company is starting out only in the U.S. for now.The company has been in private beta for a few months, with 60 operators (out of 2,500 in the U.S.) By September, when they go live, they plan on having the largest 500 operators under contract.

Are these statistics posted anywhere? Can anyone please verify the 2500 operators and name the 500 “largest” operators? What makes an operator, large…and who are the ..largest? It would seem that NetJets, Citation Shares, Bombardier Flexjet, and Jet Direct easily qualify as “largest”. That only leaves 496 large to largest-sized more operators to have “under contract”. What do all these impressive numbers mean?

Well to do clients have their organizations contact small operators who generally control 3-5 jets. Schedules are compared and prices negotiated

A-HA! A moment of clarity. Small operator means 3-5 jets. This leaves 496, more than 5 jet operators to have under contract. That is like at least 2976 and even up to 9996 or maybe 14729!

73% of us understand what this statistic means, 22% of the time.

At Virgin Charter – It takes a rocket scientist to figure out…

source- https://www.virgincharter.com/empty_leg/about

More About Empty Legs

Most people don’t realize when you buy a round trip on a private aircraft, often times you don’t pay for just two legs (there and back); you actually pay for 4 legs. For example, if you take a trip from Cincinnati to Santa Fe, it is likely the plane will drop you off and fly back empty. When you’re ready to get picked up, the plane flies empty to get you, then flies you home. Last year, approximately 40% of all private flights were empty (without passengers). We call them empty legs — catchy, and it gets the point across.

So, an empty private flight is called an empty leg, and flights that were empty, also had no passengers.

Aint that the truth

Contradiction Much?

Excerpt from Source: http://www.ainonline.com/news/single-news-page/article/virgin-charter-partners-with-radius-cut-jobs/

Our staff reductions were related to the evolution of our business strategy.
According to two sources close to the situation, the company laid off approximately 30 people, including a number of sales personnel who had been hired just this past summer.

Virgin Charter did not confirm this number. At the NBAA Convention earlier this month, president and CEO Scott Duffy admitted that the online aircraft charter marketplace has seen a drop in sales over the past two months due to the economic turmoil.
